BAND NOTES...
WINTER CONCERT DATE
The Junior and Senior High School Winter Concert will be held on March 9, 2010. It will begin at 7PM in the big gym.
NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT...
Rescheduled Booster Meeting
Because our concert is next Tuesday when we would normally have a booster meeting, we will have our meeting on Tuesday, March 16, at 7:00 pm. We will also spend time that night preparing for the Olive Garden silent auction. Please remember to bring your gifts to the band room. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, that is fine. Jo Ann and her committee will purchase items to fill the baskets. Feel free to ask any of the businesses you patronize for donations as well.
Service Letter for Students Who Have Donated Their Time
I have a letter available for those students who have performed service for the Band Boosters and need to have a record of that service. Some students need it for National Honor Society volunteer hours or college applications for next year. Please let me know if you need one and how many hours your student has volunteered for the band. These would be hours your student worked at Kids Night Out, Marching Music Games, IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contest or anything else at which she/he worked and did not have money put in his band account.
MT. ZION BAND PROGRAM ANNOUNCES PARTICIPANTS FOR THE APOLLO BAND FESTIVAL
The 2010 Apollo All-Conference Honor Band that consists of the best band students from each of the schools in the Apollo conference has been announced. Mt. Zion High School will be sending eleven players to this concert that will be held at the Effingham High School. The Apollo Band Festival guest conductor will be Dr. Barry Houser. The students will practice together all day and then the All-Conference Band will give a concert on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 6:30 P.M. at Effingham High School gymnasium.
